GTweet: Bugfixes and Beyond

I've been attempting to shake any bugs out of GTweet since it's beta release.

One glitch revealed itself when GTweet attempted to display certain html special characters. I applied a fix today, so hopefully we have seen the last of that.

I also increased the text size of the tweet itself and made the tweeter's name a link to that person's Twitter page.

If you use GTweet and have had any technical problems or would like to offer feedback, please contact me at adam at adamjarret dot com.

Thinking about the future, I'm thinking about setting up a forum or wiki for support questions, bug reports and possibly some documentation or an FAQ.

Do any current users have a preference? Are you mailing list people? Let me know in the comments.

    I'll second that emotion. I needed to get my tweets in Google Reader and you did it for me. Awesome!

    I just jumped on twitter a few days ago, and was immediately going nuts by not being able to route things through Reader. Of the "solutions" I saw out there, this seems the best. I've only had GTweet going for about an hour, but so far so good. Terrific job.

    Something occurred to me that you might want to flag on the home page. If you email a tweet from Reader, the person who receives it will have the url that includes your twitter name/password encoded by GTweet, and hence could subscribe to your feed. Not a bug, obviously, but just an observation about how Reader formats email that other people might not notice right away. Flagging the issue might not be a bad idea in the area where you talk about treating the url like a password, etc.

    @RJAlvarez, Thanks very much for the heads up - I never use that feature of Google Reader, so it's not something I ever thought about.

    I love where this is going. Finally a good solution for GReader. My feed seems to only be updating every 3 or 4 hours. Since we can't make Google update any faster what about reading more pages of data from Twitter? Like 100 or 200 tweets instead of 20.

    @Andrew, I like the idea of pulling 200 tweets at a time. Definitely something to consider for the new version.

    Hello! I simply want to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My previous blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of effort because of no back up. Have you got any approaches to protect against hackers?
